TKT is a Cambridge certificate in teaching English to speakers of other languages for teachers of primary, secondary or adult learners, anywhere in the world. It is ideal for both experienced and novice teachers, teachers in work or pre-service. The course provides teachers with a strong foundation in the core areas of teaching knowledge needed in the English language classroom.

TKT’s three modules can be taken together in one exam session or separately. Each module consists of a test of 80 questions, lasting 75 minutes, which require candidates to select the correct answer.

Course participants meet once a week online with the course tutor. PowerPoint presentations and weekly packs for students to practise for their TKT exam are delivered through an online platform (Moodle).

• Module 1: Language and background to learning and teaching.
• Module 2: Planning lessons and use of resources for language teaching.
• Module 3: Managing the teaching and learning process.

Language level: Cambridge English B2 First or equivalent.
