With tools like generative AI increasingly capable of providing instant feedback and personalized content, where does ‘the teacher feature’? This talk explores the irreplaceable value teachers bring to the learning experience—beyond knowledge delivery. Drawing on recent research, classroom experiences, and ethical considerations, we examine how educators can redefine their roles as facilitators, critical thinkers, and empathetic guides. This session invites reflection, dialogue, and practical strategies for rethinking our role in the ELT arena.

Through a mix of recent research, practical classroom examples, and critical questions, we will reflect on the shifting role of teachers—from knowledge providers to facilitators, guides, and mentors.
