DELTA (Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults) Module 1 focuses on the background to teaching, the theory that underpins it, practical applications and how these are informed by linguistics and language theories.

The participants will critically evaluate methods in English language teaching, teaching resources and materials (including e-resources and multi-media materials), and demonstrate knowledge of key concepts related to assessment.

DELTA Module 1 is assessed by a two-paper written examination. The course is intended for in-service teachers of English with a Cambridge English C2 Proficiency level or equivalent. Participants must have an initial ELT qualification and at least four years’ ELT experience.
