Abstract
(Re) Spark the passion! : engagement, learning, assessment and a way forward
After the shock we’ve all been through, it feels like the fuel that makes our learners (and ourselves!) run is in scarce supply. How can we engage our students in learning? How do we light the spark, and what can we do to keep that fire burning?
In this session we will explore the psychology of motivation and engagement, how they apply to language teaching, the role of assessment in fostering and maintaining engagement and how we can use these ideas to keep our students driven to learn online.
